The 18th Edition of the SMCA Chess WORT was held on 11th March 2021 on Lichess.org platform. The competition, while challenging, allows players to improve their game through practice and exposure.
The Chess WORT is held exclusively for SMCA students and it has 2 categories: ‘Champions’ & ‘Challengers’. The Champions’ category had participants who had been winners in the last editions of the tournament while the Challengers’ category had relatively new players. In this tournament, we had a total of 34 participants

These tournaments have touched not only students’ hearts but their parents’ as well. Shiv’s parents said, “ Shiv is enjoying and also getting exposure to handling tournament pressure. He is feeling happy and wants to play more and more tournaments. He is getting ready for the formal tournaments as well.” They also believed that SMCA has a very professional approach and comfortable training methods.
