Two city girls, Anaisha Nahar from Lokhandwala-based Euro kids and Ahana Viral Shah of Dhirubhai Ambani International School won Gold and Bronze medals, respectively in the 33rd National Age Group Chess Championships 2016 that concluded on Wednesday at Bartley Secondary School in Singapore.

A total of 455 participants were in fray for this annual event from 10 different countries across the world. The tournament was held for various age groups.

Slightly above four years, this is an incredible achievement for Anaisha particularly for the fact that other participants in the fray were almost double her age. She scored 4.5 points out of possible eight and easily walked away with the best U-6 girl of the tournament.

Ahana, representing Dhirubhai Ambani International School, also wasn't far behind with a 3.5 out of possible eight. Despite failing to get into the two, Ahana earned praise for her performance in the particular tournament.

However, local girl Haralalka Devina finished second with four points in her kitty.
